Welcome to my Secret Sources Series

This is a series of posts revealing my favourite resources for small business owners, sole traders and entrepreneurs. Today, I’ve put together my favourite resources for career tips, events, networking opportunities and news for professional women. As a sole trader in a regional area, I find it can be difficult to meet new people which is why I appreciate resources like these.

Top Career Resources

Collective Hub

First up is Collective Hub. Created by Australian entrepreneur, Lisa Messenger, Collective Hub is an online collection of blogs and articles for aspiring and thriving entrepreneurs. I also recommend following them on social media or checking out their magazine for more inspiration.

Leaders in Heels

Leaders in Heels is an online community with a range of motivational products and resources. It’s their mission to help you plan and work towards your goals. In particular, I’m a fan of their regular newsletters. Not to mention their free PDF downloads.

League of Extraordinary Women

Don’t get me wrong, I love online content. But every once in a while, it’s great to get out there and get the live experience. Just before covid hit, I attended the League’s ‘Techformation 2020’ event in Melbourne. I was impressed by the variety and energy of speakers. It’s for this reason, I find events like these a great opportunity to network and be inspired. Click the link above or try using Eventbrite to find other networking events in your area.

Classy Career Girl

Classy Career Girl offers valuable resources to support women both personally and professionally. Previously, they were named one of Forbes 35 Most Influential Career Sites. Their site offers detailed planners and guides to help you achieve your goals. In addition, they also offer a number of free resources including a masterclass.

Women’s Agenda

Women’s Agenda is a news resource 100% owned and run by women. They describe themselves as “a hub sharing the latest news and views affecting how women live and work.” If you appreciate a range of perspectives in your news, I recommend adding this to your morning reading list.

Business Chicks

Business Chicks is a professional women’s networking group in Australia. The group offer membership subscriptions and regular events for professional growth and networking. Recently, they’ve adapted their offering and upped their game in the digital space. Throughout the pandemic, they’ve continued to offer quality content and VIP speakers but in an online format.
